For the majority of the Switch’s life, if you wanted a cheap one and a game to go with it, there was usually a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle around the holiday season.
That legacy is continuing with the Switch 2, and despite a price increase this year, we knew the Switch 2 was never going to stay off discount. This is Australia, we never pay full price for anything.
Today, October 29th, 2026, Nintendo released a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. It comes with 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online as well, something the original Mario Kart World bundle never did. But at the new RRP of $839.95 AUD, it’s still more than the $769 AUD (or less if you found a bargain) we were paying just a year ago.
Relief is on the way, however, with Black Friday coming up. Kmart will have this new bundle for $649 AUD from November 26th. Typically, Kmart doesn’t sell gaming items, but at Black Friday, it does, and usually that means all the other stores that normally stock Switch 2 will compete, and we’ll see some price matching. That price isn’t an all-time low, but it’s very close, and it comes with 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online as well.
Kmart’s price isn’t available on the website yet, but when it is, we’ll have an update for you. One caveat: Kmart once announced a Switch bundle price very early, then changed it before Black Friday, making us look very wrong. So, fingers crossed we don’t see that happen again.
So if you’re looking at a Switch 2, wait for Black Friday. At least if you’re after Mario Kart World, other bundles do exist. Plus that Zelda one is pretty good looking too.
