While Fallout 76 has had a limited range of pets for a little while now, they’ve been grounded and kept at a player’s CAMP. That’s about to change, as Bethesda is testing “CAMPanions” who will be able to travel with you — and even attack your foes. Travel and attack pets include the dog, cat, radhog, and deathclaw. Obviously, the cat is the deadliest and probably caused the apocalypse in the first place.
In a new post, the studio shared some additional details about these summonable companions, saying that it’s testing pet leveling and pet passives on the “Pspsps-Test Server” right now. Additionally, console players should expect to see the introduction of CAMP pets to the game with the September 15th Slasher update.
“Anytime that you earn XP with your pet summoned allows them to gain XP as well. They can reach a max level of 200, unlocking HP/DMG increases, and increased player carry capacity,” Bethesda said. “Each pet has two passives. One that grants you a useful item, and one that improves rewards in a specific type of activity/event. Earned by leveling up, these passive buffs have multiple stages that improve the buff as your pet hits higher levels.”
